(Subculture) Feels real in my bones Not catching my break Living with no home Swimming all alone (Desta) Taste from my sugar castle How does it make you feel Taste from my sugar castle Taste these empty dreams (Subculture) All my people through the side gate, Come eat my cakes cos we just all trading sugar

A Boulevard with no lights again See Dark skin thugger gangs Hide my phone without a view I’ll cross the street and call a friend Then run down the riverbend Thank god I made this time through Make my way downtown again Cold fingers and stuttering I see the sun shining through My mood so high you can swing again Melt down but recovering The spring in my walk counts for two Oww Oww Watch my step as I walk through the forbidden Damn Thought we’d take his shit But we didn’t Ohh I think they’ve got something theyve hidden The boy with freedom failed his mission

aming away trying to look back Closing my eyes everything turns black Moonlight is bright Frosty and cold snap Hearing the sounds thought I was alone damn I’m going home But wait I see in the distance Red eyes and teeth as they glisten My feet won’t move heavy breathing I can’t make sounds but I’m screaming Chorus I know you Somethings new But I see two Can’t get with you (X2) verse 2 Couldn’t you stay now I’m here alone and I can’t take it back Running away couldn’t see the danger that was lurking back There and now I’m the clown Laughing at the pain and now Just wake up from this bad dream Ooh bad dream Ooh bad dream Couldn’t make it out of that reality Crazy dream Chorus x2

I’m digging this all night, Digging this all day I’m digging this all night Baby can I get high? All day Every time you breathe in It’s like glitter is feeling on my skin And I can feel the clouds are covering my feet And it feels like rain is showering over me And sometimes when I rub my eyes I can see stars shining brightly

We be in social submarines Everybody wants to go behinds the scenes They think I’m tryina hide a darker side of me, They don’t know I just want some privacy. The history of you, They know everything we do. Cum stains on my backseats, We were busy making love in the backstreets, No flash please, I’m sick being branded a meme, Despite the world feeling like privacy is unneeded. I see their reasons, but healing is hard to find, When they constantly shine a light on my demon and my achievements, are celebrated for seconds, But still it struck a chord in my progression when the keys were released. And I got to see how to build my belief in me. How do I feel about it? I recognise how corruption would really thrive without it, But having you watching my life, man I could do without it, And when they said the end is near I was already counting. But still I’m found in a shade room, looking for light on the life, Celebrities so I squeeze into these conversations. The same shit fuelling my frustration, But then it’s we the people demanding this education. Open your eyes to foreign tribes, Televised lies somehow a legal crime. Agendas splitting genders and killing people like I, Clocking in to clock to see how you’re using your time. This addiction is a poison to your minds, Be careful with how you use and choose to unwind. Bullets won’t miss you when they it’s your time, To entertain the screens of all of mankind. I had to see it when they said that trump was the president, I had to see it when they kill a nigga and leave evidence, I had to see it when she post a pic showing her elements, I had to see it all my eyelids will never fall. Starring at my telephone lost the feeling of awe, Lost the feeling of caring or giving a fuck at all, Confused by all the messages I still answer the call, Ready for what’s in store the end is close I am sure.

The birds and the bees You were all I see Your love is inside of me The flowers the birds and the bees You’re loves inside of me Inside of me

Cracked paint burnt pictures on my wall Been three years silence since the fall This autumn got my head checked No need for rent cheques No need for facebook any more The streams spread, we burnt bread It rained red, our people fled We mined lead Now we dead, now we dead What lies ahead? Just blood shed, just blood shed A death bed , more block heads They surround us, they feed off us This exodus, a second exodus I’m feeling blue so I’ll call my mum Or I’ll fuck my girl, we drink more rum While they spew hate about who belongs And what is right or what means wrong So i’ll build build my friends a rocket With this pen knife in my pocket And become stardust And make forth for the second exodus. Am I soulless if I lost my soul? Did the earth forget me when I forgot myself? You only remember you’re human when you’re all alone Hands gripped on the window sill Fighting this black hole Am I soulless if I lost my soul? Did the earth forget me when I forgot myself? You only remember you’re human when you’re all alone Hands gripped on the window sill.

I know there’s nothing I can do to change your mind And if I did begin to pull you from his side You might not even like the state of my mind Cos I can be violent and cold I’d lay you down on my bed, and enter The rest of our lives would be sweeter then I’d keep you under my arm You used to say if I could make you wonder The space above my head would slow down But I won’t even notice Said if I keep my cool if I could keep my calm And if you see my in the set slow down Cos I been waiting for the longest time I’d lay you down on my bed, and enter The rest of our lives would be sweeter then I’d keep you under my arm.

(Hemi) You said you needed some space to figure it out Now I’m in the room for moving on If you don’t understand, let me make it clear That there’s no more hope Tell me what you want from me Can’t escape your thoughts it keeps on haunting me Wasted all this energy Trina keep up with your insanity Come again in the summer or maybe in the winter My baby shines like a mirror Can’t shake this fever though I cant even see ya Tryina hold my own when the ground shakes Making lovers lies for my own sake She comes again in the summer In the face of another lover (Subculture) She’d sink battle ships for me She’d swim across the channel for me I draw no line in the sand for you Burning my soul just to be true for you So when she came in with the hammer Straight through my soul Now I see her face all over the city Fire on the pavements Nothing on the TV (we go) Gray city Hell, Pity All I care is When I go To the next day Blossom, Sun ray In my head I just want home

Oh when the sun won’t Oh when the sun won’t rise no more Oh when the sun won’t. Words drip out my body like blood from his veins. I found a security in showing all my pain. Take this load off my shoulder, I’m suffering and I’m strained. Shattered souls broken whispers, of course we’re all afraid. Oh when the sun won’t Oh when the sun won’t rise no more Oh when the sun won’t rise no more. They won’t stop on the real, So what good is your will? As we ingest more pills. Stay sedated, stay sedated. So we don’t even stop for the sunsets (cry) Don’t see colour in the night (we get high) We’re crying in ourselves, Like dust from a shelf, And so we cry out. Give us back time, Give me back time Give us back, Give us back time.

Having recorded as half of UK Hip Hop duo Subculture Sage for the past 5 years and been on production duties for artists such as TINYMAN, Tertia May and Dorj, ‘I DREAM OF EVERYTHING’ is the first time he has stepped out into the spotlight, with a host of collaborators to help realise his vision. The mixtape was released in November 2019 on Subculture's inprint 'Twisted Hearts Records'.

Subculture on the title of the mixtape and inspiration behind it said, “I DREAM OF EVERYTHING was born from my obsession with dreams and thinking more deeply about the connection between memories, dreams, fears and reality. It all started with my song ‘Rise No More’ which was inspired by that thin line between logical end of the world thinking and existential depression. I’ve kept a dream journal for many years and sometimes feel like the haziness of dreams is just our memory being hazy, I mean I have memories of real events that are hazy as fuck and memories of dreams that feel more real than real events from my life! Either way, I think even if it is just your mind creating imagery, it’s significant and I’ve definitely allowed my dreams to help guide me in life.”

‘I DREAM OF EVERYTHING’ features singles ‘The River Bend’ feat. Rachel Chinouriri, ‘Gunning For Fees’ feat. Goya Gumbani & Grand Pax, ‘Glitter Stream Stars’ feat. Tertia May and ‘The Chase’ feat. Rachel Chinouriri which have between them appeared on the Rinse FM A-list as well as getting spins from DJ Target and Jamz Supernova on 1XTRA, Julie Adenuga on Beats1 and Huw Stephens on Radio 1.

Subculture on the process behind its creation: “I created the mixtape pretty much across a 3 year period, experimenting with a lot of new methods and sounds. As a producer I’m a lot more excited by process than gear. I write and produce for so many other artists but I wanted this to be entirely my vision and based on what I think works. The idea was to wed my love for 50s/60s/70s Psych, Soul and Jazz with beats that sound like they’re from the future. Basically distorted guitars, soulful bass, crazy vocal hooks and really overly syncopated drums but all with a very specific classic sound.”

As an artist, Hip Hop is central to Subculture’s sound, but he also draws influence from Post-Punk and Jazz. Having had to move his studio several times in the last year, Subculture coined his method as ‘nomadic production’. Drawing on the culture of hospitality central to his middle Eastern/North African roots, no matter where Subculture sets up shop he puts maximum focus on creating a welcoming environment for his collaborators, allowing him to develop productive working relationships with the likes of Chelou, Grand Pax, Goya Gumbani and Tertia May.
